If you want to taste authentic Thai cuisine in Hong Kong, Kowloon City is the place to be! Known as “Little Bangkok,” Kowloon City has numerous Thai grocery stores and restaurants, especially along South Wall Road. In the 1970s, many Thai migrant workers and brides settled in Kowloon City due to its proximity to Kai Tak Airport. This allowed them to easily visit their homeland and start their businesses by taking advantage of the airport’s convenient access to goods.

Fong , the owner of Ruamjai Thai Grocery , is one of those brides who came from Thailand. The store was established in 2000 and relocated to its current location on South Wall Road in 2003. You can find a wide variety of items there, including Tom Yum soup ingredients, freshly cooked Green Curry, fresh fruits imported from Thailand, and Thai desserts like mango sticky rice – they have it all! During the weekends, you don’t need to board a plane; just come to Kowloon City to experience the authentic Thai atmosphere!
