Like many older public housing estates, Chun Seen Mei Chuen in To Kwa Wan features uniform and practical design, airy hallways and ample public space. That kind of estate is rare now but still can be seen in To Kwa Wan.

Built in 1956 by the Hong Kong Housing Society, the estate was a popular spot for photographers hoping to capture airplanes flying to and from the neighbouring Kai Tak Airport. Now that the airport has moved, the estate is a quiet haven in an urban centre.

Not for long, however, residents are expected to move out of the estate as soon as 2024 to make way for its redevelopment.
