Situated on the ground floor of a pre-war tenement building, Tai Wo Tang was a medical centre in 1932, and later in 1940 became a traditional Chinese medicine clinic run by practitioner Chung and his son. After they passed away, Tai Wo Tang became a Chinese herbal medicine store, which closed in 2017.
Today, Tai Wo Tang has embraced its new role as a cafe, but most of the original furnishings and décor, such as wooden medicine cabinets and benches, remain.
