Teochew Classroom: Hand-paint Facial Makeup Workshop

Teochew opera is one of the many variants of Chinese opera, originating in southern China’s Chaoshan region. It used to be popular in Hong Kong, however, there are fewer chances to witness this traditional art nowadays. Generally, the opera will be presented on stage during the Yu Lan Festival and the Birthday of Tin Hau. Participants are able to create their own facial makeup, to appreciate Teochew opera and to understand the uniqueness and significance of Teochew traditional culture during the workshop.
