Hidden beneath the staircase of an old tenement building, Wing Lai Fashion specializes in altering and tailoring clothes. The shop owner, Mr. Tsang, started his business after coming to Hong Kong in the 1960s to study. Stepping into Wing Lai Fashion today feels like stepping back into the 1970s, with faded decor, vintage sewing machines, and irons that have been in use for over 40 years. The shop opens at 9am sharp and closes at 6 PM daily, regardless of the weather. Customers of all ages, both locals and foreigners, including international students, come specifically to Kowloon City to have their clothes tailored by him.
